IB Shanghai Suzhou WoW 2006!!!

IB Shanghai Suzhou WoW 2006!!!
Anticlockwise from left colum top : The great sphere of Shanghai Science and Technology Museum; 7-minuntes on the Shanghai Maglev; swanky Xintiandi; Jiang Zemin's calligraphy...now did he use Coca-Cola as ink? Hmmm ; Yellow hats at the incineration plant; MALEMAN toilet at Luzhi Water Town; The corridor of Suzhou Nanya hotel 8th floor as we stayed up for our last night...there was food, drink, music, dance...basically, FUN;Unplanned picnic on the bus...on the way to Pudong Airport we just grew hungry and brought out all kinds of tit-bits to share...

And finally, one of our "healthy oil-less" meals which we couldnt have enough of -.-

Revelation through the looking glass…

A moment in time
Which I made mine
A moment in time
I made a find
While all was still
It came to fill
What was my thrill
Long misery kill.

Round and round the endless panes
All seemed to reflect a life on its wane
Then all at once through the looking glass
Emerged a life not to let pass
A life sofastsofreesoindifferent
Yet it was all so, different
From the one I knew
Such moments too few

Never recently felt so well
Gentle warmth inside, I found myself
With few words I bade him farewell
“Pleasure to meet you, who I’d be and never be, me”

10th May 2006

Such a wonderful feeling when you let out something bottled in there. Anyway make a guess where I got inspired. Ironic time and place. But it happened. And in the new IB campus too...

Post OEP

Finally got down to typing. Was away last week in Shanghai. And I must say, it was almost the best balance of work and play, second only to my Beijing trip. Took thousands of shots, of which a number will be uploaded for viewing together with my travel journal once I find time to do it. Meanwhile, I’m unpacking, working, sorting gifts and pictures. And nursing a runny nose and sore throat. Attributed to the fried and oil-drench fare in Shanghai and Suzhou. Others think its due to the late nights though. Whatever the case, I’m not too enthusiastic about returning to schoolwork. School is bearable (though after this trip I’ve realised that my class is the most tame and serious bunch in the level). And at least I’ve dreamt up a topic for IOP (yes, I dreamt of it!). But there’s still work I ought to do. Sigh. Guess I ought to stop now...
P.S. look out for the Tourism Australia ads on TV! They actually got approved
